Cleaners & Pre-Cleaners

Savage Cleaners and Pre-cleaners are designed to accomplish the tough work of cleaning your nut crop while it is still in the orchard or as part of a more complete cleaning plant. These machines separate out most of the sticks, leaves and other trash that you might otherwise have to haul around.
The 4224 Cleaner is configured with an integrated conveyor-inspection table. It will remove 80% of foreign matter at about 6000 pounds of product per hour and allow for a more thorough cleaning by hand. This machine can easily be towed to where the action is.
The 4324 Pre-cleaner takes the cleaned product aloft, via the integrated belt elevator, and directly into a trailer so you can finish cleanng when bulk product has been accumulated and at your convenience.

Why would you transport and store trash with your valuable nut crop? Cleaning nuts soon after harvest greatly reduces the possibility of moisture damage and makes them easier to store. Cleaning your crop will also increase value and marketability.
Powered by either an electric motor (3-phase or single phase) or the more portable Kohler gas engine, Savage cleaners use a multi-step process to maximize cleaning efficiency in a small amount of space. A clod remover takes out small rocks and dirt clods; a unique scuffing wheel eliminates most shuck material; a powerful fan blows away leaves and sticks.
